Case Study – Under-slung Travelling Cranes

Client: Swinton based high quality chrome plating works

Requirement: To modernise existing crane system over processing tanks

Problems:

Utilise old existing down-shop beams supported from roof structure
Replace existing push travel cranes
Improvment on existing  headroom required
Difficult access over existing plant

Solution:

Two new under-slung electric travelling cranes with raised bridge beams and motorised end carriages and electric chain hoists. 

Festoon cross shop electrical feed system on both cranes with remote pendant controls. The down-shop conductor rail system fixed to drop bars from downshop beams to feed both new cranes.

Design, manufacture, installation and testing of two complete systems provided by Dales’ in-house crane division.
